Mother's Day is just around the corner.
The day devoted to the light of our homes, the day where they get to feel special. The day where we can show them how much they really mean to us.
To my mom:
18 years.
For 18 years, you've been taking care of me.
For 18 years, you've put up with me and my whims.
For 18 years, you've toiled to make life easy for me.
For 18 years, you have awoken at 2:00am to get me ready for school.
For 18 years, you have arranged my bag for school.
For 18 years, you have slaved yourself in the kitchen to give us a hearthy meal.
For 18 years, you have sacrificed your own creature comforts to give me mine.
For 18 years, you have lectured me, disciplined me, for me to turn out okay.
For 18 years, you kept your pains inside, so I won't be affected.
For 18 years, you did reviewers so I won't have a hard time studying for exams.
For 18 years, you made sure I was safe.
For 18 years, you took care of me.
I know I have been a major pain in the neck, I have yelled at you for not giving me what I want, for not allowing me to go on outings during high school, for always bugging me to do chores.
But, as i grow older, I understand. I understand the pain you must have felt when I yelled at you. The hard time you had when I was out with friends. The hardships you endured in your age doing chores.
Kaya,
I've been a pain,
I've been selfish,
I've been conceited...
but see? I learned.
Sorry na ha. ;)
